Wilmington Students Attend English Festival

Congratulations to all of the students who attended English Festival last week. The students made Wilmington proud at the English Festival’s 40 year Anniversary. Mia Taylor received a 3rd place award in a Limerick Poetry Writing Contest, Maddie King and Grace Fette both Earned 1st place awards in Limerick writing. Both Julia Preston and Rachel Lego received Honorable Mention Awards in writing games, while Mary Boyd and Will Anderson were awarded the first place win. Claire Hartner received an Honorable Mention in Impromptu writing. Also for impromptu writing, 9th graders, Darren Miller and Grace Fette received top 10 awards for Impromptu out of over 400 students who participated in the competition. Finally, Grace Fette was awarded the 2nd place award for the prestigious Candace Gay Memorial Writing Award. What an amazing accomplishment. Great job to all of the students who attended the festival.
