U.S. Representative Mike Kelly stopped by the district to present our robotics program with a $55,000 grant. Mr. Kelly also had the opportunity to interact with students within the program.
The grant was through federal Community Project Funding and used to purchase robotic kits called VEX IQ. It will also be used to purchase a 3D printer down the road. Students in the program learn to assemble robots using pieces from the kit and control them using a remote control. Students have the opportunity to navigate an obstacle course or pick up objects.
