Principal's Message to Parents/Guardians

Welcome to Wilmington Area Elementary School and thank you for visiting our website! We hope that you find the information contained in the website to be useful and informative. At Wilmington Area, we pride ourselves on maintaining high expectations for student achievement, while focusing on the individual needs of each child. Our well rounded, standards based curriculum provides students with a strong foundation in reading and mathematics as well as exposing students to the elements of social studies, science, music, physical education, technology and art.

Additionally, supports are in place for both struggling students and those who would benefit from enrichment opportunities. As principal of Wilmington Area Elementary School, I am proud of what has been accomplished here and I strive to build upon past successes in order to provide strong educational experiences for all of our students. As one of only 100 Google Reference School in the United States, we continue to expand our use of technology as a tool to enrich our children’s educational experiences. This year we have added to our technology and science curriculum a daily computer programming class in which all of our students will participate.

Please take some time to review our “Parent-Student Handbook” (located within this website). Whether you are a new parent or a returning parent to our school community, this booklet will provide you with helpful answers and guidance to our school’s expectations and procedures. We strongly believe that keeping open communication with our parents and involving them in their child's education helps to foster a love for learning and promoting student success. Therefore, forming a home and school partnership is important to us. As is always the case, we welcome the parents/guardians of our students to contact your child’s teacher or me with any questions or concerns you might have. By working together, I strongly believe that we can continue to offer the best educational experiences for our students.
