
At the request of local authorities, Wilmington Area School District is under an "exterior lockdown" until further notice. No one is permitted in or out of the buildings. Education continues as normal.

There has been a change in the school calendar. The Act 80 day previously scheduled for March 19th has been rescheduled to Friday, February 26th. Therefor, there will be no school on the 26th of February and school-as-normal on March 19th.

Due to anticipated weather conditions, the district will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow (Tuesday, February 16th).

I am alerting all of you that one student has tested positive for COVID-19. The student will continue to follow all necessary health protocols as required by the District and the Department of Health. The PA Dept. of Health will contact anyone who may have been exposed for a length of time to be considered a contact.

If you have a child who will be 5 years old before September 1, 2021 and you wish to register him/her for Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year, please call the elementary school office at (724) 656-8866 ext. 3000 by February 20th to register.
A Kindergarten screening clinic is being planned for April 14 and April 15, 2021 at Wilmington Area Elementary School by appointment only.

Friendly reminder to households with student(s) in grades 7-12: Please complete the survey that was emailed last week. It is important for the District to know how many students are planning to return to campus. Deadline is tomorrow!

The District is currently accepting bids on various equipment and supplies that are no longer in use. A listing of all items, pictures and instructions on how to bid can be found here: https://www.wasd.school/page/rfp. All bids are due by 12:00 pm on 2/19.

The school district is planning a return to hybrid learning (alternating Blue and Gold groups) for grades 7-12 beginning on the following dates:
Feb 9: Grades 7-8, and
Feb 16: Grades 9-12
A survey has been emailed to parents/guardians via Alma. Please complete the survey no later than Tuesday, Feb. 2nd, to assist the District in determining the number of students returning to campus.

Starting Monday 1/18, meal pick-up times will be from 3:30-5:30 pm at the HS Gym entrance only. Meal pick-up will take place every Monday & Wednesday from 3:30-5:30. The administration is aware of a scheduled high school dance for January 23, 2021. This event is not sponsored, affiliated, or endorsed by the school district in any way. The administration recommends that students do not attend this event based on the current substantial transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Today, the PA Dept. of Education released new recommendations concerning elementary face-to-face instruction. The district will release a new information early next week regarding possible changes to learning pathways.
